Problem

Unreliable BMS, no hypervision and a lack of overall control

B&M, a discount retail chain established in France, already had a BMS in most of its stores. However, the existing system could only control a few points, provided unreliable data, and offered no overall view across the estate.

Faced with this lack of supervision, B&M was looking for a modern, more responsive alternative, able to structure a coherent national energy policy and deliver significant energy savings.

Solution

Multi-site energy hypervision, smart alerts and QR codes for local control

Sensinov was selected following a pilot site in Roques, which demonstrated a 20% reduction in consumption. Sensinov's proactive, transparent and technical approach convinced the central teams.

The deployed solution includes:

  • A centralized hypervision platform to manage the entire estate
  • Automatic alerts sent to store teams in the event of energy drift
  • QR codes installed in stores so field teams can control certain equipment locally (lighting, temperature, etc.)
  • Tracking of the actions taken and their observed effects
  • Monetizing the project through a CEE (energy savings certificate) subsidy
Results

Reliable control, local autonomy and measured savings

  • Rollout of overall energy management, structured across the estate
  • More reliable data and renewed confidence on the operations side
  • Energy-consumption savings from the pilot site onward (-20%)
  • Ease of use thanks to QR codes for non-technical teams
  • Greater responsiveness with alerts sent directly to the stores
  • Financial value from the project through enhanced CEE subsidies
